We have sad news — the & Publishing Group is shutting down operations. The forthcoming Issue 15 (Not Demons Nor Devils) will be our last issue of & Magazine.
Why are we shutting down?
Publishing a consistently high quality magazine takes a huge amount of time, enthusiasm, and drive. For most of our six year tenure, the enthusiasm and drive have been stellar, and we used that to make the time for our hobby.
But all good things come to an end. We realized that the overall team energy has been flagging for a while, so we decided it was time to shut things down gracefully.
Issue 15 will not be our final publication. We have a number of other items underway, and will complete them. We have been working on three compilation publications:
- Magic Items of & Magazine, Issues 01-15
- Monsters of & Magazine, Issues 01-15
- Spells of & Magazine, Issues 01-15
These were intended to be compilations of Issues 01-12 … but with us ceasing publication, it makes sense to expand the scope of these documents. We are also finishing up:
- Burrows Collaborative Adventure
- Book of Mid-Level Lairs I
- Book of Miscellaneous Spells II
- Tome of Monsters
- Ulan Dhor’s Book of Illusions
There’s no schedule on these, yet. Our current focus is to get Issue 15 out the door, then beat the others into shape.
Note: The &PG web site will remain for a number of years, along with the Wizardawn site. When the decision to take the site down occurs, we will make arrangements to host our publications elsewhere.
Stay tuned for updates …
Sorry to hear about this, folks. Though I am looking forward to the upcoming releases. And very nice to hear that Wizardawn will be kept, too. 🙂
As an avid fan, like i said over on Dragonsfoot, i am sorry to see you guys go. BUT thanks for all the long hours putting out these awesome products.
Very sorry to hear this. I just want to say THANK YOU for all the great materials that you all have written for &Magazine over the years. I will very much miss this publication. 🙁
Indeed sad news. Thanks for leaving the site intact and available for the future though. A great resource that I have used quite often and will keep using. Best!
Hate to hear it, but thanks for the great stuff.
Yeah, what a sad news to hear… Anyway, thanks a lot for all the great materials and glad to read that your site will be available for the upcoming years…
Thanks for all !
Sad news. Even though I was late to the party, I’ve enjoyed the magazine and other resources you’ve released.
Thanks for all you’ve done!
Aw, bummer! I also thank you for all you’ve done.
Question: when you take this site down you said you’d make arrangements to host publications elsewhere. Does that include the Wizardawn generators and material? I’d hate to lose such a valuable resource.
Awww man, this sucks. But I get that even something you love can turn into a burden after awhile.
So many props for the issues you’ve put out. &Mag is totally on par with Dragon and White Dwarf, and you didn’t have ad filler. You should all be proud of the job you’ve done and the number of people you’ve made happy through your efforts. A mug of the finest dwarven ale is raised to toast you!
BTW,if I could make a last request: any chance of a combined map of the hex crawls being published? One that would plot them all together? The hex crawls are nothing short of amazing, and it would be awesome to have a map of them all together. You would just need to number them;we’d have the mags for the fine details.
A complete set of Andrew Hamilton’s hex crawls is on the agenda. This will include everything published, plus a few we didn’t get to.
Sorry to here this Bryan. Thanks for all your hard work, and your patience with those of us who have nagged you for release dates!
Good luck with whatever dungeon you wend your way into.
I am saddened to learn this. It has been a great magazine, with great content. They have published great adventures and even published the Castle Triskelion Mega Dungeon. I understand the reasoning behind the decision. I wish you all the best.
I thought your guild work in Issue 4 about the best I’ve seen. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.
